The Hidden Crisis

Nigeria is facing a quietly escalating health crisis. Today, over 5.77 million Nigerians live with diabetes, and many more are pre-diabetic or struggling with obesity. While genetic and lifestyle factors play a role, a significant contributor is the staggering amount of hidden sugar in our daily beverages.

The average commercial soft drink or processed juice consumed in Nigeria contains upwards of 35g to 45g of sugar—often in just a single serving. To put this in perspective, this far exceeds the World Health Organization's strong recommendation to limit added sugar intake to under 25g per day for optimal health.

Consumers are forced into a compromise: enjoy a refreshing drink but compromise their health, or drink water and miss out on the cultural and sensory experience of a flavorful beverage.

"We realized that Nigerians didn't want to drink unhealthily, they simply lacked premium, accessible alternatives that respected both their palate and their health."
